UFOs

Undeniably fantastic objects.

My mom drove up for an over-nighter a few days ago. Apart from the obvious joy of having her visit, I'm always so grateful for the yummy treats (e.g., wine, cheese, bread, fruits, etc.) she brings. Not surprisingly, she didn't disappoint this time.

She brought Pies. Two of 'em ... from the Flying Saucer Pie Company in Houston. Holy hell.

Strawberry cream and cherry--two plates of perfection.

friday junkin'

Needed to get out of town to clear my head. So when the Facebook machine told me the girls at Junk Gypsy were going to be [wo]manning a tent today at Warrenton (TX) Antiques Week ... it was the perfect opportunity to hit a few backroads for a little therapeutic thinkin' time.

(It didn't hurt that drooling over JG stuff was my ultimate destination)

I came away with an amazing bed spread, a super feisty lamp, Steve Earle's Guitar Town humming away in my head, and a wonderful appreciation for how great an "on a whim" roadie can be.

Several shots from the JG tent this afternoon. Salve to this sista's soul.

vb {wildwood park}

Not Vera's typical fair, but a lovely collection, nonetheless. I was just telling one of my girls yesterday that I've seen from multiple sources that black and navy blue is apparently the "it" color combination for the fall. It looks like Wildwood Park is navy and chocolate, but the effect is similar, don't you think?

Head over to her website.

She's got a "Welcome to Napa Valley" theme going on, and its a pleasant diversion on a Thursday :).

I'm really liking this tote:
